Are people afraid?
« on: January 24, 2012, 05:40:22 AM »
Volume has been extremely low on the Gox the past few days. Are people afraid to trade due to the "long squeeze" a few days ago? Are they just undecided about where things are going next?
I'm only asking because, as a speculator, it is d@mn hard to increase my position with this stagnation. The indicators/charts all look good, but no one wants to jump.

Lately, I've been noticing erratic "trends", if you can call them that, since there not really trending at all. I believe there are a few new wall street "pros" there now. They may have some new tricks that haven't been seen here before. Maybe they're just shaking out the weak hands!?! I don't know. This is just speculation so...

Thoughts?

Maybe people are just leaving Mt.Gox... I have always thought it was a unprofessional. I just never liked the layout or the service that the support offers there.

Also my opinion would not change even if the "hack" never happened...

I agree. They've definitely let things go for the last few months. The problem for me is, there just isn't enough volume anywhere else. It isn't  really worth setting up yet another funding option, since no one else accepts Dwolla so...yeah.

I've actually had a good experience with their support. I made a deposit, and forgot to add my account code. I contacted them, and was replied to quickly, and by the time I was done reading the reply, the funds were in my account. This is my only need for support, so I may be the exception.

I recommend BTC-E for exchanging Bitcoins. That's who I have been using for a while.... The UI is easy to use and professional looking as well...

I bought FBX with NMC proceeds, and quadrupled, quadrupled and doubled again my BTC there. That's all I leave in that account, figuring I'll have an arbitrage op. But for the most part, their price is almost always lower and the spreads are huge. I guess I'll have to catch it on an up-tick.
