Mt Gox Verification Queue
« on: April 09, 2013, 10:53:09 PM »
It was 5,500, then 8,300.

Last report is that it was 21,000 but another user said he was @ 16,200 position.

Let's observe this queue. It is a good indicator.

Either interest in bitcoins is through the roof... or they have one dude/lady working on the verification queue! (You may have to scroll - sorry about the image size)  ;)

From my experience, they do ~2000 a day. That must be the WORST job.  ::)

I'm now at 23000, which is ~5000 less than when I started one week ago. At this rate, it may take months. You can't really trust the numbers today though, as things on the site are crazy due to the DDOS attack. With the increase in bitcoin interest, they may hire some folks just to verify accounts!  ;D

I signed up there today and was verified within a few minutes so it appears they have streamlined things.

Mt Gox is scam!!!
Stay away!
Their price is high just to get people to sell their hard mined bitcoins at their site. Then when you try to transfer the funds to your own bankaccount, they won't process it. Their website says it should take 1-2 weeks which is long enough because international wire takes 2-3 days.
After a month and many tickets, they told me to cancel the withdrawal and buy bitcoins with the money and transfer the bitcoins!
STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mineraholic,

I totally agree that Mt Gox is scam. I tried to get my account verified and what happened now is that my account is closed and all my BTC worth thousands of USD are gone.

They tried to make me use their website to upload sensitive information like my DL and bank statement which I refused due to their history of security breaches. So I sent them my data on paper to Japan. Although they acknowledged that the papers arrived they closed my account without any further notice and took all my BTC.

I was an Mt Gox member since 2011 and had experienced the first hack back then. Now it seems they've become some criminal consortium as well.

So, stay away from Mt Gox! They are scam! They take your money and you don't have a chance to get it back.

I'm wondering if I should report them to FinCEN so they close that website down. What is your opinion about that?
