What Would Satoshi Nakamoto Do?

This guy comes along. He creates something that will change the world. He disappears. Of course he disappears. That  makes all the sense in the world. This is stuff you read about or only see in films, but it's actually a reality in our world, TODAY.

It's obvious that the world is falling apart, financially. It's obvious that something HAS to give sooner or later.

The Internet has become one of the most (if not THE most) powerful force in the world today. The government cannot even control it, though they are trying their hardest.

Bitcoin is going up in value right now. Will this continue? Is it a trend? Is is the beginning of something that will possibly take over how we view money?

So, my question to ponder is what is Satoshi Nakamoto thinking today? After all, he probably predicted this because why else would he create bitcoin? I have a feeling that he knew something like this was going to happen.

What is the next step for bitcoin? Just how big will it get? Will it die off? Will SN finally come to the surface and grace us with his presence so to explain his insights on this phenomenon?

Good question but I don't believe he will be here to reply. ;(

Interesting video. Haven't seen this one yet. It MUST be old. There's been plenty more specs about SN.

Paco Ahlgren is a name that keeps surfacing too. He disappeared shortly after his book, Discipline, was recognized as being parallel to the creation of bitcoin. I have been able to find a few of his blogs, but nothing recent.

Thoughts, rebuttals?

I have read the wiki. Needless to say that this guy has a really impressive resume but also he is very exposed as a novelist.

People really think he is Satoshi? My review is that he has most of the credentials but if he has told us before he isn't... we have no right to compel anyone to assume the identity of Satoshi.

Let's remember Satoshi chose to be anonymous.

I read the book. Good book, however, I think it's reaching to say he's SN based on just a book. Lots of people write books...doesn't make them the inventor of something like this.

BY THE WAY, WHY IS BITCOIN CLIMBING SO MUCH LATELY? What's going on to make this happen?

I think those that think Paco Ahlgren is Satoshi are those who dont know aything about cryptocoins except that they like the idea and like to mine them.

On another note, here is an article by Paco Ahlgren talking about why Bitcoin WILL fail.

The Future of BitCoin and Digital Currencies
Author: Paco Ahlgren
Published: Aug 22, 2011

Quote
A few weeks ago, I wrote an article about Bitcoin — the new encrypted, peer-to-peer currency that has everyone buzzing. I’ve done some research since my initial post, and I have to say, I’m not as excited as I was.
BitCoin is a fantastic idea, but its days are — unfortunately — numbered. The biggest problem I see is supply: Only 21 million BitCoins can ever be minted (and this is not mathematically debatable). As such, at some point in the very near future, demand is going to cause the currency to explode in price (relative to other currencies, commodities, et cetera), and when that happens, there will be no realistic way to use it.

Think about it: all it takes is one eccentric billionaire — or hell, even one risk-taking a-list actor, athletic super-star, or experimental super-model — to take an interest in BitCoin, and the party is over. Sure, for those of us holding it, it will be a boon, but how will other people use it? If one BitCoin goes for $100,000, how realistic is it going to be for you to buy a cup of coffee with it? What are you going to do? Pay .00001 BTC? That’s kind of awkward. And calculating the tip makes me feel a little queasy.

I have no doubt that someone is going to step up to the plate soon to make BTC transactions simpler and faster. And sure, that will help things a little. But for now, I see BitCoin as little more than a store-of-value — much like gold; yes, it’s valuable, but what can you do with it?

On another note, since my last article about BitCoin, there has been a tremendous amount of speculation on the Internet about my connection to its founder: Satoshi Nakamura. I want to take this moment to explicitly say that I have absolutely no connection to BitCoin — other than my curious fascination with its implications. It’s true that my book did predict something like BitCoin — years before it existed. But that connection is purely coincidental; I’m simply not intelligent enough to have come up with the real thing.

Interestng article. Good points all around BUT  of course he would write an article about why it would fail (if he's really Nakamoto). It's just another way to cover his tracks, right?

WHY does his name keep coming up though? There's gotta be a reason.

I think it keeps coming up because there was very few accusations and everyone wants to join the bandwagon and claim they know when in reality they are just accusing.

I could be wrong but I think this is simply a case of the bandwagon effect.

You  may be right about the bandwagon effect.  People are always trying to grab at a name and hold on to it. We hate not having the answers, but then again, everyone loves a riddle.
This guy Ahlgren is worth speculating over though. His book has parallels, but it could be coincidental. Regardless, it's a good mystery.

Well, it's all becoming lame to me. After some speculation, it's beginning to occur to me that this SN character is probably a group of people, and most def not someone who lives in Texas. I mean, really.

I bet Satoshi is the first name of one person and Nakamoto is the last name of someone else. Why on earth would they make it even close to obvious?

Does anyone care about Satoshi Nakamoto anymore?
